My process began with an HR call, and I then moved into a take-home task.

The recruiter recommended a time box of about three hours, but what stood out most wasn’t the work itself—it was how the feedback went afterward. The feedback I received was extremely nit-picky and seemed to focus on details that, in my view, weren’t predictive of engineering ability.

After the feedback, I tried to ask a few follow-up questions, but I didn’t get a real response. The silence and the way the process ended left a sour feeling for me overall. I didn’t get an offer, and my honest takeaway was that I shouldn’t have spent the time applying.
