The process started with a coding challenge meant to demonstrate aptitude and capability.

After completing it, I was promised an interview.

As the process continued, I had to provide a resume as part of the exchange. What changed the feel for me was the inclusion of an exclusionary agreement during the overall process, which made me uncomfortable about how the relationship was being structured.

I didn’t end up getting an offer, but the biggest lasting impression was that the challenge wasn’t the only gate—legal terms were part of the process from the start.
