My early rounds were pretty friendly and straightforward.

I started with a brief phone conversation where the focus was on my past experiences, why I was interested in the role, and how I expected the day-to-day to look. I didn’t get much technical questioning at that stage, and it felt like they were primarily trying to confirm my motivation and alignment.

The rest of the process was mostly behavior-focused, with questions structured around how I’d handle work situations and how I told stories about past experiences. There were only a couple of technical questions sprinkled in, so the overall feel stayed conversational.

I didn’t get an offer.
