I joined the interview over video call and started with a brief intro—then the interviewer asked me about interesting projects I’d worked on.

After that, I moved into a classic coding problem involving a two-dimensional array, the kind of question that feels like it’s been floating around for years.

The interview dragged longer than scheduled because of a bug with their code editor. The conversation spent a surprising amount of time just trying to debug why the environment wouldn’t run the code. It turned out the editor would break when comments were included, and I wanted to paste in comments and formulas from my own setup, but I was told I had to work inside the editor even though it was unreliable.
