My process started with an HR recruiter screen, and then I moved quickly into a CodeSignal take-home assessment.

The HR stage stood out because the recruiter asked me to explicitly address DEI in a way that felt unusual and very pointed. It wasn’t just a general conversation—it came off as performative in how it was framed.

The take-home itself was described as a 90-minute task, but with multiple levels to the problem, it didn’t feel realistic. I remember having to rush through it, and the pressure made the work feel more like speed than thoughtful problem-solving. I felt like I had a strong solution, but I couldn’t finish the last part and got rejected the next day with a generic response.
