Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied for an entry-level software engineering role, and early on I was pulled into a call where system design questions came up immediately.

I found that challenging because it wasn’t just coding fundamentals—it was more about how I could explain and demonstrate system design thinking clearly.

The interview felt like it expected me to articulate the approach rather than just give an answer, and that made it hard to show what I knew in the way they wanted. I didn’t end up getting an offer, and the experience left me feeling like the bar was higher and the format less familiar than I expected.
