I didn’t get far because I realized I wasn’t aligned with the role expectations early.

The interview itself felt friendly and the interviewers were polite, so the interaction wasn’t uncomfortable. The issue was that I wasn’t actually clear on what the job would require.

HR had sent a link to learn about responsibilities, but it didn’t work, and on interview day I had to ask what the responsibilities were. A lot of what they described ended up not matching my strengths, which made it hard to present myself convincingly. I left feeling like I’d done my part, but the foundation of the match was shaky from the start.
