I went through a pathway that started with HackerRank online testing, then moved into a virtual sequence that was heavier on DSA and design thinking.

The timing surprised me: there was a long gap—months—between the HackerRank test and the later rounds, and I remember worrying that I’d lose momentum.

When the virtual interviews finally happened, one part involved DSA and low-level reasoning, and another was a system design interview. The system design questions weren’t just theoretical; they asked about building a payment-style system at a higher level and thinking through how the system would behave under real constraints. I also had behavioral questions tied to whether I would be a good fit for the team and role.
