My interview loop began with a virtual round, then moved straight into an onsite.

The onsite itself mixed system design thinking with coding problems that were meant to reflect real-world applications rather than toy examples.

It was a tougher day than the virtual round, and I felt the emphasis on “real usage” problems. I tried to keep my answers structured and explain my tradeoffs, but I didn’t perform well in the onsite, and that ended up being the most critical stage.

By the end, I was rejected. The overall experience taught me how much the onsite coding-and-design blend can swing the evaluation—especially when you’re not getting the right level of depth and execution
