San Mateo, CAPosted Aug 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My first major hurdle was a very challenging technical prompt that I struggled to fully understand, and the time pressure made it worse.

The problem involved moving a snake and eating pellets, and I just couldn’t get a clean grasp of what they wanted quickly enough. I also had under about 30 minutes to complete it, which felt tight for how unclear the prompt became to me.

Separately, I also had an OA-style coding challenge format that was more manageable time-wise: it used HackerRank with multiple coding problems and roughly 90 minutes total, and that amount of time was enough that I didn’t feel rushed. That one ended up being fine for me in terms of coding execution.

Putting those experiences together, the biggest takeaway
