My difficult journey involved multiple engineer screens and a hard Codility-style test, with a strong emphasis on rigorous technical evaluation.

Technical phone screens (engineers + engineering manager) — I went through a couple of screens that mixed behavioral and technical questions.
Codility test — I took a very hard test described as having many questions, including several coding tasks, code reviews, and logical questions. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that the assessment bar was high and the test format was the biggest hurdle.
