Atlanta, GAPosted Jan 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for an ICE Software Engineer role with a front-end-heavy path that mixed a light recruiter-style screen and a coding test focused on web UI.

Recruiter-style phone screen — A laid-back chat primarily about React and key nuances like hooks, lifecycle behavior, side effects, and state management.
Coding test — A CSS/JavaScript assessment. The CSS part asked for elements with specific styling and behavior on resize, and the JS part was another UI-related task. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and I felt my approach didn’t align perfectly with the intended single-solution interpretation.
