I started with an extempore or speech-based test, then moved into an online test focused on Java/JavaScript along with aptitude and reasoning.

After that came the technical interview and then an HR step.

In the HR conversation, the interviewer asked what I wanted to become. I answered that I wanted to be a developer, but then they asked about wanting to be a tester. Since I stuck to developer instead of switching, I was rejected.

I didn’t receive an offer. The process itself had standard stages, but the final decision ended up hinging on role preference more than anything technical.
