I made it through the technical rounds, but the manager session was completely different from what I expected.

The manager didn’t ask any technical questions at all, and the conversation felt like it was driven more by judgment than by exploring my background. When I requested feedback, it was vague—just that my skills didn’t match.

That was especially disappointing because it raised the question of why the process had gotten as far as it did if the fit decision was already locked in. I didn’t get an offer, and my honest takeaway was that the manager round didn’t feel grounded in the technical strengths I thought they had been assessing.
