Hulu Software Engineer interview experience

The code included unnamed functions, and I was asked what the best names would be for the two functions. That question was more about understanding behavior and intent than about writing anything from scratch.

From there, the interview didn’t feel like it was testing broad algorithm knowledge—it was testing whether I could read unfamiliar code accurately and describe it clearly. It was difficult mainly because the naming task sounds simple until the implementations are concrete and you have to be precise.
