HubSpot Software Engineer interview experience

After the initial coding gate, I ended up with multiple rounds that included two separate system design interviews and a coding interview, so I was essentially living in architecture questions for most of the process.

One systems design discussion started around a streaming platform theme, and I could feel them testing how I reasoned about scalability and trade-offs, not just whether I could list components. In another round, the systems design experience felt less smooth because one interviewer seemed less prepared, and the follow-up questions didn’t quite land the way they should have.
