My process started with an extended session that felt more like a structured assessment than a casual conversation.

I ended up in a 3-hour meeting with three different team members, and the discussion covered several concrete topics: financial statements, a company presentation, and valuation work, plus motivational questions to understand why I wanted investment banking and specifically why I was interested in the firm.

In an earlier Zoom step in my journey, the style had been different—more behavioral up front with a few basic technicals, and the interviewer was friendly and relatively laid back. Even so, what carried over was that they still wanted me to connect my background to finance fundamentals.
