Hot Topic Account Executive interview experience

After a recruiter-style reach out, I ended up interviewing in person, usually in the mall area near the store. The vibe was laid back and the managers kept the questions focused on what I’d actually be doing day to day—how I’d relate to customers and sell, not some heavy, trick-heavy screening. They still asked the basics, like what I could bring to the role, but it never felt stressful.

Most of my questions were tied to product and culture: what kinds of music or pop culture I liked, what merchandise I’d point a customer toward, and how I’d handle someone who wasn’t sure what to pick.
