Boston, MAPosted Apr 2017 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The first part of my process was quick: I completed an online test, and then I was invited to their office in Boston for a one-on-one interview.

I solved the problem efficiently and correctly, and the engineer gave me positive feedback.

Despite that, I was rejected the next day without much explanation. Later, I also had a similar arc—after a coding challenge that I expected to take around an hour, I went onsite for a technical interview that felt smooth. I came up with and coded a solution matching the spec and again received positive feedback, but I still got a rejection the following day. That repeated pattern left a sour feeling that the hiring decision wasn’t necessarily being made based on the interview performance.
