I only went through a recruiter screen, and it didn’t last long enough to build momentum.

The call was with HR, and it didn’t move forward because the job’s responsibilities and the position requirements didn’t match what I’d done before. The HR person told me I was overqualified, and even though it ended quickly, she was polite and said she would let me know if a role opened up that fit my profile better. I left with the disappointment of not continuing, but the rejection itself felt straightforward and respectful.
