I interviewed for Software Engineer with an overall moderate difficulty and a timeline that spanned weeks, where I experienced a mix of technical and managerial steps but no final offer.

Technical interview (dept/role fit) — About 30 minutes with one senior technical interviewer, focusing on projects and problem-solving approach.
Managerial round — Situation-based questions and discussion that shifted toward leadership/management expectations.
HR check after selection signal — I was told on the same day that I was selected after the managerial round, but later I received an email saying they were moving forward with another candidate.
Outcome: I didn’t get the offer; the takeaway is that even strong late-stage feedback didn’t guarantee the final
