San Jose, CAPosted Feb 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for the Software Engineer role at HPE with an average difficulty process that culminated in a long, multi-interviewer final day.

HR phone screening — An initial phone screen with HR.
LP with hiring manager — A round with the hiring manager focused on learning/leadership-style evaluation.
Resume-based team interviews — I met a team of three software engineers for questions grounded in my resume and experience.
Final: 3-hour block — A long interview session with four separate interviews, each lasting about 45 minutes, covering system design, coding, architecture, and tools.
Outcome: No offer, and I felt the bar was set through breadth across architecture, design, and implementation.
