I began with a recruiter call, and the next step was a take-home test that required me to create a PR.

The recruiter told me the grading would be completed within 48 hours and that I’d get an update after that. I built in time to handle the work carefully, including test cases, documentation, and inline explanations, and I finished within three days.

The problem was communication. I followed up four times, but I only got a reply after a bank holiday, and then the recruiter stopped responding to my subsequent messages. That left me unsure where my work stood, and it ended up consuming a lot of time I couldn’t afford to spend—because I couldn’t reliably prioritize the rest of my interview
