First I spoke with HR, and that conversation wasn’t just a formality—it covered the position and expectations, and it came with useful resources for interview preparation, including things like the company overview and tech content.

The next step was a call with two managers, and the tone felt supportive and pleasant. They shared a clearer picture of the team, what they were looking for, and what the role would require.

Even though I was ultimately rejected, the ending felt respectful rather than abrupt. HR called me back afterward and explained why I wasn’t the right fit, and the communication left me with a positive impression. The rejection still stung, but the process itself felt transparent and considerate, which made it easier to leave the situation with good feelings.
