BerlinPosted Oct 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My first round was with a Senior Tech Recruiting Manager for a senior platform engineer position, and from the start the interaction felt hostile and disrespectful.

The tone felt off—more like I was being mocked than interviewed—and the questions weren’t presented clearly enough for me to answer accurately.

I also felt like the manager wasn’t fully engaging with the conversation; they seemed focused on wrapping up quickly rather than exploring my experience. The whole dynamic threw me off so much that I didn’t continue with the rest of the interview steps. After that experience, I knew I didn’t want to proceed, and I rejected the remaining rounds.
