I interviewed through an on-campus style Software Engineer drive at HCL Tech, and it felt easier than the broader corporate pipeline—centered on what I built and how I communicated it over a short timeline.

On-campus / face-to-face intro — I introduced myself and the discussion quickly moved toward my resume and projects.
Technical-focused project/hackathon discussion — I was evaluated on work I’d done through hackathons and coursework; I selected a track (like ML/full-stack) and the interview was based on that build.
Team-based hackathon experience (where applicable) — I participated in a team hackathon (including ML options) and later defended my approach.
Final interview (about an hour) — I explained the project details, decisions, and what I implemented.
