HCL Tech Engineering Manager interview experience

The hardest part of the interview for me was the network security track.

I went deep on concepts tied to Palo Alto and VPNs, specifically both site-to-site and client-to-site scenarios. The questioning leaned heavily toward theory, with less emphasis on practical, hands-on problem solving.

Even though I could follow the domain discussions, it felt demanding because the panel kept the focus on conceptual understanding rather than walkthroughs or lab-style questions. The overall experience landed on the difficult side, and it didn’t lead to an offer.
