I went through a structured multi-round hiring day that started with a one-hour pen-and-paper written test.

The test itself had two sections: one section was subjective (and it even included negative marking for wrong answers), and the other was coding. Both sections had three questions, but the coding questions carried more weight. The subjectivity plus the coding emphasis made it feel like they wanted both precision and nerves-of-steel.

Once the written test was over, the process moved into multiple technical and then HR discussions. I ended up with a flow that matched what they seemed to prefer: one written technical test, followed by a couple of technical interviews, and then an HR interview
