I had a difficult but fairly direct interview experience that leaned on both my background and the basics of software development.

It started with a self-introduction, then shifted into programming questions based on skills I listed, including Python, Java, and AWS basics. The recruiter also asked about my understanding of the software development life cycle and my outlook on life after about five years. I didn’t receive an offer, and what stayed with me was how much the evaluation focused on fundamentals and long-term thinking rather than just problem solving.
