Cambridge, MAPosted Apr 2014 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My process started the typical way: I applied online and was contacted about a week later to schedule a phone interview.

The initial 30-minute call was with an HR representative, and they framed it as the gateway to speaking with the actual managers if things went well. I was told to expect an update within a couple of weeks.

After that window passed with no response, I followed up by email and then got told I wouldn’t be moving forward. The part that bothered me was how disconnected it felt—HR didn’t seem to have a clear grasp of the role’s desired qualifications, so the conversation didn’t line up well with what the team likely cared about. Separately, I also sensed that reputation and research pedigree
