A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, and the process kicked off with a recruiter phone call followed by a technical screening call with an engineer.

The technical screening itself used a timed online coding puzzle over the phone.

What surprised me was that the puzzle didn’t feel especially connected to web development. It was more about general problem solving under time pressure than about building anything domain-specific. That mismatch didn’t necessarily mean it was unfair, but it made the screening feel a little abstract compared to the role.
