Hershey, PAPosted Aug 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a remote Software Engineer role at Handshake using a low-stress, conversation-heavy format that felt average difficulty and ran about a few weeks.

People-team conversation / engineering manager chat — I talked with a member of the people team about goals and fit, then had an hour-long technical conversation with the hiring manager.
Technical interview — I completed two technical tasks in a very conversational, low-pressure way over video.
Long remote onsite (~5 hours) — multiple interview conversations with folks I would work with, plus built-in breaks.
Outcome: I didn’t move forward, but the process focus on rapport and clear communication stood out as a positive experience.
