My process felt rigorous and time-heavy, and it really stood out because it wasn’t just a single technical screen—it piled on multiple signals.

I remember being surprised by how much effort the interview took overall, including a take-home component plus follow-up and extended technical work that didn’t feel proportional to the compensation.

On the technical side, the questions were framed as “real work,” but the shape of them was very leetcode-like. I also felt tension around the rules of engagement: even though there were guides that suggested I could look things up, I ran into interviewers who didn’t allow it during the exercises. The strangest part came during a final working session that was advertised like pair programming.
