I went through a single, standout technical round that was a live coding exercise with a senior engineer.

The main thing I noticed was how they watched not just what I produced, but how I coded while I was working through the problem. I had the option to use either an online editor or my own IDE, which made the round feel a little more comfortable than some whiteboard-style setups.

It was challenging in the sense that it demanded clarity and momentum under observation, but it wasn’t confusing about expectations. When I didn’t move forward, it felt like a straightforward outcome from that one stage, and I walked away thinking the experience mainly tested execution style rather than trivia.
