I had an interview that honestly threw me off from the start.

It didn’t feel like a real conversation so much as a rapid set of questions that didn’t leave much room to get to know me. I was answering situational prompts one after the other, and the whole time it felt like the interviewer had already picked who they wanted.

The vibe got even stranger as we wrapped up. The person I was speaking with took a while to end the call, and I could practically see the fatigue on their face—like they didn’t want to be there anymore. By the time it ended, I felt more annoyed than nervous, and I walked away thinking I’d dodged something.

I didn’t get the role.
