My first step was a call with an assistant who walked me through the benefits and requirements of the role, so the beginning felt more informational than intimidating.

After that, there was a second call that was the technical interview with LeetCode-style questions, and that’s where I didn’t do well.

What helped was that the technical interviewer was friendly and tried to guide me through the problem as I worked. The assistant also came across as kind and understanding, and that softened the overall experience even though I wasn’t able to pass the coding portion.
