Google Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Hard

Negative

ZürichPosted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I got rejected pretty abruptly after a status update in the portal.

The message didn’t come with much context, and it left me with the feeling that without internal support—like a reference from someone inside—it was hard to even reach the interview phase.

After the denial, I was blocked from reapplying for ninety days. It made the whole situation feel unnecessarily restrictive, especially since the reasons for being turned down can vary a lot depending on how the pipeline looks. Overall, it wasn’t an interview experience at all so much as a process outcome that happened before I ever got to test my skills.
