Swindon, Wiltshire, South West England, EnglandPosted Apr 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I started with an early technical gate that had to be cleared before anything more advanced.

Recruiter screen — a preliminary chat about my background and fit for the Software Engineer role.
Technical screen: Scripting & Automation — the first technical stage, centered on scripting/automation and troubleshooting; I couldn’t move forward past it.
Systems/Operations-focused follow-up — additional probing around internal systems/SysAdmin-style knowledge as part of the same early technical flow. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, and the main takeaway was that this scripting/automation troubleshooting gate is treated as a mandatory pass.
