I started with an initial screening phone call where we talked about the role and what they expected day to day.

It felt like a straightforward conversation, but I also got a clear sense that they were looking for someone with more extensive experience than I could immediately show.

After that call, I didn’t move forward. No long gauntlet of coding or multiple technical rounds—just the screening and then silence. My main reflection was that the interview felt more like a fit check against a strong “seniority” bar than a chance to demonstrate potential.
