I applied through LinkedIn and got a short HR recruiter call that was nothing too specific.

It was more of a quick conversation where a couple of questions came up, and after that call I was passed forward.

The next interview was with a team lead, and it was built around STAR-style answers. I had to give short, to-the-point responses, which changed how I framed my stories compared to longer-form interviews.

I didn’t end up moving past that point, but the process itself was clear about what it wanted from my communication style.
