I walked through a pretty straightforward software engineer interview process, and it leaned heavily on fundamentals.

The most memorable part was the coding work where I had to write code focused on classic data structures and text handling—things like linked lists and string processing.

The interview felt more average in difficulty overall, but the emphasis on C was clear. Being comfortable with C language details mattered a lot for how the problems were framed. I didn’t end up with an offer, and afterward I felt like my performance was tightly tied to how well I could translate those core topics into correct, working C code under the time pressure.
