Warren, MIPosted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at General Motors of Canada with an otherwise standard multi-round setup, but the difficulty and dynamics felt notably rough in the technical portions.

Automated scheduling / initial screen — I received bot-based outreach and then connected for the first contact.
OA or coding round — I completed an OA, which led into further rounds.
HR and system design — I encountered a system-design interview where the interaction felt unhelpful, with the interviewer cutting me off and being condescending in one case.
Multiple technical sessions (Zoom / panel) — In another similar flow, I recorded responses, then did a phone interview and a multi-person Zoom interview with one long final session. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer;
