I interviewed for Software Engineering roles through a short sequence where STAR behavioral storytelling mattered as much as a small amount of coding or technical context.

Coding screen — I solved an arrays-focused coding question (written/typed during the round).
Project/architecture discussion — I explained a project I worked on and discussed different “loss types” I explored, including why I chose a particular architecture.
Behavioral interviews — I handled a series of STAR-style questions about my background and internships, including describing work I’d done and why it mattered. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, but the rounds felt reasonable when I had clear examples and structured STAR answers.
