My process included an assessment day that was noticeably structured.

I sat through an hour-long interview, then had a 20-minute presentation on a topic that was assigned, followed by two group activities. Questions were asked by two different staff members—one from HR and one who was a senior systems engineer.

Most of the questions were competency-based, and a lot of them leaned into systems engineering knowledge, which made the day feel more like evaluating how I think in that domain than just checking my resume. It was definitely challenging in a way that wasn’t purely technical coding difficulty, but it demanded I stay sharp across different formats.
