General Dynamics Mission Systems Software Engineer interview experience

The interviewer was skilled and focused on whether I could solve problems carefully and avoid common pitfalls. The actual question wasn’t described as overly difficult or tricky, but it required deliberate thought and clarification—what mattered most was how I reasoned, not just the final answer.

Even though I didn’t get selected, I did get invited to apply for other roles with their recommendation. The feeling I was left with was that they had a consistent standard for problem-solving quality and communication, and that the interview experience was more about accuracy and thinking process
