My Garmin experience that stood out most had a blunt, abrupt feeling.

I got a good start with the recruiter stage and expected to continue toward the technical and hiring-manager conversations, but I was declined before those later steps even happened. The recruiter interaction itself went well enough that the outcome surprised me, and it left me wondering what I’d missed.

Another part of the journey felt even stranger and more frustrating: after a preliminary HR manager discussion covering my current work, salary expectations, travel availability, and motivation, I went into a second interview with a sales area manager who didn’t really ask me questions.
