Freshworks Backend Engineer interview experience

No offer

SeniorPosted Jan 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I got rejected after the very first technical screen for a Senior Software Engineer Backend role, which was entirely focused on data structures and algorithms.

The interview felt like a quick, coding-heavy assessment rather than a broader discussion of my background.

They asked me to solve two classic LeetCode-style problems: “Remove Duplicates from Sorted Array II” and “Reverse Linked List II.” The expectation was that I’d write working code in the environment and then walk through my approach clearly.

Even though I was able to explain the process and discuss the questions, the outcome was still a no—so the experience ended right after that initial DSA round, with it feeling fairly binary and tightly scoped.
