Fivetran Software Engineer interview experience

I was given a problem there and solved it, and it landed in the easy-to-medium range. After that, I went into a code-pair style round hosted on HackerRank, where I worked interactively with the interviewer.

In that paired session, the task was to build a lexicographically smaller palindromic string from an input string, with expected time complexity in the neighborhood of O(N). That combination—solving with the constraints in mind while also coding in tandem—made the round feel more “engineering” than just a straightforward take-and-pass exercise.

Overall the difficulty was difficult enough
