I went through a process involving a couple of recruiter calls because the role required relocation, and they wanted to place me locally.

After that, I had three interviews: with potential team members, with the manager they reported to, and then with the VP.

There wasn’t any technical interview or case study—everything stayed behavioral. The process felt like they were focusing on fit and communication rather than testing knowledge.

Eventually they decided not to offer due to miscommunication with the recruiter about whether the role was remote. It was a frustrating reason to lose out, because the mismatch wasn’t something I could fix after the fact.
