My first real red flag happened during a virtual one-on-one interview that started conversational and then drifted into something that felt very sales-heavy.

The site director was friendly, but it quickly turned into a pitch about full-life insurance, and the structure reminded me of high-pressure multi-level marketing patterns.

As the process continued, the pay model and compensation details didn’t sit right with me either. I learned it was commission-based, and that was a major mismatch with what I personally wanted from a financial advising role. There were also concerns about training and how the opportunity was positioned, including how quickly the conversation shifted from explaining the path to basically selling the role as it was.
